A Florida man and woman have been arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine after Special Operations units found drugs during a routine traffic stop on Interstate 10 on Monday.

According to a release issued Tuesday by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, Special Operations units stopping a rented Nissan Altma east bound Monday on Interstate 10 for a traffic violation.

According to reports, based on a detection by a K-9 officer, the vehicle was searched and officers found four bundles of suspected cocaine in a factory void inside the rear doors.

The suspects, Kellie Truitt, 30, of Winter Park, Florida, and Joel Lopez, 31, of Kissimmee, Florida, were arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine. They were transported to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Corrections Center, where they are in jail on a $1 million bond.
