Foley man facing sexual abuse charges

FOLEY — A Foley man was arrested Wednesday on sexual abuse charges after two alleged victims contacted investigators over a decade after the abuse was said to have taken place.

Baldwin County Sheriff investigators arrested 57-year-old Greg Fountain at his residence on Wednesday. He was taken directly to the BCSO Corrections Center in Bay Minette and booked on charges of two counts of second degree rape, one county second degree sodomy, one county of sex abuse under 12, two counts of second degree sex abuse (one felony and one misdemeanor), and one count of sexual misconduct. He is being held without bond.

According to a report issued Wednesday by the Sheriff’s Department Investigations Command, the alleged victims informed investigators that they were allowed to live with Fountain and his wife in 2006. Apparently, the children’s biological mother was an illegal alien from Mexico and was working so many different hours that the arrangement was made for the children to stay with the Fountains.

The alleged victims, who were juveniles at the time, stated that Fountain began to touch them inappropriately starting in 2007. Shortly afterward, according to the report, he began to force one of the juveniles to engage in sexual intercourse with him. Additional charges are pending.
