Foley Woman’s Club donates to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center

FOLEY - The Foley Woman’s Club donated $1,000 worth of digital thermometers to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center to assist the organization during the COVID-19 crisis. The thermometers will be used within the hospital as well as South Baldwin Regional clinics.

“We’re so appreciative of the Foley Woman’s Club, and really our entire community for the outreach and the support that they’ve given us during this time,” said South Baldwin Regional Medical Center CEO Daniel McKinney. “We will use these across our organization for temperature screenings, which we perform on every single patient before they enter into any of our facilities.”

The Foley Woman’s Club’s Annual Mad Hatters’ Event, which typically takes place in March of each year, was cancelled due to COVID-19. Funds raised from the event are given to women’s and children’s organizations throughout Baldwin County. Though the Foley Woman’s Club was unable to host its annual event, club members want to help their community by donating to worthy causes, including South Baldwin Regional Medical Center and Ecumenical Ministries.

The next Mad Hatters’ Event will take place on March 3, 2021 at the Foley Civic Center. The venue will follow the same program, and is being called World of Books 2.0 by club members. All raffle, pot of gold tickets, and auction items donated for the 2020 event will be kept and reused for the 2021 event. Tickets purchased for the 2020 event will be honored at the 2021 Mad Hatters’ Event.
