Members of the Foley Woman’s Club were given an update on the tremendous growth and development in the City of Foley by LaDonna Hinesley, Marketing Director for the City of Foley, at their March 4 meeting. Many interesting historical facts were presented as well.

Since the Club’s annual Mad Hatters’ event is approaching, Chairman Kelly Barrett gave out instructions and cut-off dates involving preparations for the event.

The Nominating Committee reported the following officers for the 2019-2020 year, which were approved by vote of the membership: President- Kelly Barrett; 1st Vice President- Sylvia Womack; 2nd Vice President- Joanna James; Secretary- Sheila Morgan; Treasurer- Chris Anglin; Assistant Treasurer- Lora Daniels; Parliamentarian- Barbara McCamish.

Some tickets are still available for the March 14 Mad Hatters’ Event and can be purchased at Checkouts store in Foley. Doors will open for the event at 10 a.m. for silent auction bidding and purchasing raffle and Pot of Gold tickets by attendees. The theme for this year’s event is “In the Garden,” so there will be a great variety of original hats for the hat contest parade. Judges will roam around the room and select the winners of: Most Creative theme, Wackiest, and Most Glamorous creations.

All profits from the event go to women and children services in Baldwin County. You don’t want to miss this event!
