Foley Woman’s Club receives donation

Posted

Members of the Foley Woman’s Club received a generous donation from the Rikard Foundation donated by Jennie and Frank Rikard at their January meeting. Jennie has been an active member of the Club for many years and her husband Frank has been a faithful supporter. Every year since 2006, the Rikard’s have made the first donation to the Club’s Mad Hatters’ event.

This year’s Mad Hatters’ event is March 14 at the Foley Civic Center. The theme for this year is “In The Garden” and includes a seated luncheon, raffles, Pot of Gold, silent auction and a hat contest. Tickets are on sale now for $30 and can be purchased from Chris Anglin at 943-3443.

Members are currently securing donations for the raffles and auction. If you would like to donate any items or funds, please contact Kelley Barrett at Checkouts in Foley.

Club members were also delighted to have a presentation from Matt Halfacre and Donnie Wigen with Roufusport Martial Arts in Foley on personal safety and self-defense. The presentation was quite entertaining with interactive demonstrations.
