Foley’s Mayors’ Prayer Breakfast

The Foley Mayors’ Prayer Breakfast was held on Thursday, May 3, at the First Baptist Church of Foley, and was hosted by Ecumenical Ministries, Inc. Foley Mayor John Koniar, Magnolia Springs Mayor Bob Holk, and Summerdale Mayor David Wilson were present at the event, along with multiple first responders, educators, and county and city officials. The theme of the day was “On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand,” and the guest speaker was Major General Janet Cobb (USA Retired) (pictured here). Clark Stewart was the Master of Ceremony with an opening prayer by Dr. Billy Nale; the Presentation of the Colors and Pledge of Allegiance were led by Boy Scout Troop 77, with the National Anthem being presented by Kim Tatum Kelly. Offering of Prayers were made by Charles Weber for the business and farming community and economy; Karri Botts for first responders; Col. Scherry Douglas, USAF, Ret. for the military; Eddie Tyler for education; The Honorable Tim Russell for local, state, and national leaders; and Monica Townser for social service community. Entertainment included The Sandspur Band and Dr. Annie Shoots and John Means.
