Friends of the Foley Library’s Annual Book Sale a best-seller

Posted

FOLEY - The Friends of the Foley Library held its Annual Book Sale for three days on Feb. 6 - 8, drawing in large crowds of avid readers looking for their next great find - and at an affordable price.

The Book Sale takes place at the Foley Civic Center each year, with the Foley High School’s ROTC assisting with the set up and take down of the large event - it’s no easy feat to move hundreds and hundreds of books!

This year saw lots of books for sale, and lots of folks ready to enjoy them. The sale features multiple tables dividing the books into genres, where shoppers can browse and chat. Friends of the Foley Library members work the event the entire time, keeping tables stocked and assisting shoppers.

Anyone can become a member of the Friends of the Foley Library. A single membership is $10 and family membership is $15.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale go to help fund the Foley Public Library and the many events it hosts during the year. During the 2018-2019 year, the Friends helped by donating over $20,000 for projects to the library, including 20% of library interior painting, shelving for the library, new rolling carts, Summer Reading Program, and library part time help.
