George Richard (Dick) Stuardi

1939 - 2019

George Richard (Dick) Stuardi of Fairhope, Alabama died on March 16, 2019 surrounded by his family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Susan Stuardi; and his sister, Adele Stuardi Gwatkin.

He is survived by daughters, Lisa Stuardi (Giulio Pappalardo) and Tracy Stuardi; granddaughters, Matilde Pappalardo and Beatrice Pappalardo; brothers, Aloysius Edwin Stuardi Jr. and Oliver William Stuardi; sister, Nan Stuardi Wilder; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Dick was born to A.E. and Dorothy Stuardi in Mobile, Alabama. He graduated from McGill Institute and received his B.S. degree from Spring Hill College.

Following graduation, he was commissioned in the U.S. Army and was an inaugural member of the 11thAir Assault Division, where he served with distinction and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal.

Upon completion of his military service, Dick worked across the Gulf Coast on a variety of industrial and environmental safety businesses. He also participated in numerous civic, business and mystic organizations across Mobile and Baldwin counties.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers and support during Dick's illness.

Dick and Susan will be interred together at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort.

Memorials may be made in Dick's name to the Soldiers' Angels organization.
