ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — Get your tickets now for the 19th Annual PCA Championship Rodeo, which will be held Friday and Saturday, March 9 and 10 at the Baldwin County Fairgrounds arena in Robertsdale.

Advance tickets cost $10 for adults and are available at the Summerdale Western Shore, Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, Bryant Bank locations in Foley and Daphne and the Silverhill branch of United Bank.

Friday night is Kid’s Night and children 12 and under are admitted free with a parent or guardian. Saturday advance tickets for children 5 to 12 cost $4.

Friday and Saturday tickets cost $12 on the night of the event for adults; Saturday tickets cost $6 at the gate for ages 5 to 12. Admission for ages 5 and under is free both nights.

“This is our biggest fundraiser of the year,” said 2018-19 Rotary Club President Joshua Mims. “We want to encourage everyone to come out and enjoy this family-friendly event.”

For the third straight year, the Rotary Club will host a Mini Rodeo on Wednesday, March 7, which will provide a preview to the Friday and Saturday festivities.

Students from local schools will be treated to a sampling of rodeo events. Also for the third straight year The Rawhide-n-Dusty Show & James Boys Wild and Western Entertainment will provide halftime entertainment.

Mark “Rawhide” Lahmann and his wife Cindy of Sullivan, Missouri, have traveled all over the United States for more than 15 years performing at various events. They will be making a return trip to perform during halftime both nights.

Rawhide and his horse Dusty entertain the crowd with tricks such as Dusty shaking his head yes and no, bowling, lying down and raring up. After performing these tricks, Rawhide will lope the horse around the arena performing whip popping on horse-back.

Rawhide also has two trained Texas Longhorn steers known as Frank and Jessie, the outlaws from Missouri. Frank and Jessie perform on top of the trailer with Rawhide and Dusty. The show also promises to include a few new surprises. Visit rawhideanddusty.com for more information.

Rodeo organizers and this year’s Rodeo clown will also be touring schools once again on Thursday, March 8 to help promote the rodeo.

Rodeo participants will also once again get the opportunity to win a Henry Golden Boy Long Colt .45 rifle, courtesy of Campbell Hardware. Raffle tickets are being sold through Rotary Club members or during the event. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20 and a drawing will be held Saturday night.

Local students are also invited to participate in the annual coloring contest, presented by Bryant Bank. You can pick up an entry form at the Foley and Daphne locations of Bryant Bank or check with your local school.

One girls’ and one boys’ bicycle, donated by Walmart, will be given away each night during the rodeo.

The event is produced by Bo Campbell Rodeo and is part of the Ram Rodeo Series.

Through its Foundation, the Robertsdale Rotary Club has contributed to the Central Baldwin Education Foundation, Catholic Social Services, Landstuhl Fisher House, Women’s Care Medical Center, Baldwin County Child Advocacy Center, Habitat for Humanity and the Making Memories Hunt, among others.
