Golden Bears gleam at major competition

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. — The Robertsdale High School Varsity Cheerleaders and Coach Amy Stewart attended the Universal Cheer Association Cheer Camp in Panama City Beach, Fla., during the week of May 31-June 3.

The RHS varsity cheerleading squad received two gold superior ribbons for their Sideline Cheer and Extreme Routine during initial evaluations, were awarded the banana (spirit award), two spirit sticks, two first-place overall trophies in Sideline Cheer and Extreme Routine.

Captain Taya Wilkinson and Co-Captains Elizabeth Smith and Maddy Feller received an invitation to travel to Orlando, Fla., to participate in the Citrus Bowl Parade.

Also, Wilkinson and Feller were selected to try-out for the UCA staff following their senior year next spring.

Congratulations to Taya Wilkinson, Elizabeth Smith, Jackie Landeros and Tiler Coley for being selected as UCA All-Americans. Captain Wilkinson placed first in the UCA Varsity Jump Off as well as being chosen a recipient of the Pin It Forward Award. Pin It Forward is awarded to cheerleaders who exemplify leadership skills, genuine spirit, commitment and kindness.
