For the third year, the Foley Police Department, Calvary Chapel Fellowship of Foley, First Baptist Church of Foley and a host of other faith-based organizations and businesses are hosting the Gulf Coast Gospel Jubilee. This year’s jubilee is slated for Oct. 1, at Heritage Park in Foley, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
October is domestic violence awareness month and three years ago, the Foley Police Department wanted to get the faith-based community involved to help raise funds for The Lighthouse and the Baldwin County Child Advocacy Center (CARE House). All proceeds from the day will go to these two Baldwin County organizations. Shelby Brown, Little Rock Baptist Church and Calvary Chapel Fellowship are some of the names that will be performing throughout the day. A variety of food will be available for purchase to enjoy as you listen to gospel music.
How else can you get involved?
1. Make a donation of any amount and send it to: P.O. Box 1124, Foley, AL 36536. Make checks, money orders and cashier’s checks payable to Calvary Impact.
2. Second, your church or business can set up a booth and promote your organization or sell your products. Vendors, businesses and churches can set up Friday, Oct. 2, 10 a.m.-6p.m. The vendor and church fee is $100. Vendors are requested to contribute 15 percent of profits.
3. If you have a gospel band, contemporary Christian band, church choir, a soloist or a good ole’ guitar player and vocalist, you can sign up for a scheduled time slot to perform at the event.
4. You can be involved by preparing and selling food. This event will have a food vendor area. Whether is burgers, sausage, gumbo, barbecue or a fish fry, bring it down and be part of this great event.
