Gulf Shores High inducts first Hall of Fame

10 athletes, coaches and associates members enshrined

GULF SHORES, Ala. — Last Friday was a special night for Gulf Shores. The first ever Gulf Shores High School Hall of Fame class was inducted with a presentation in the GSHS library and the enshrinement of 10 athletes, coaches and associates including members of the Dolphin Athletic Club.

Before the home game at Mickey Miller-Blackwell Stadium, the inductees were presented on the field with their accomplishments and success with the Dolphins athletic programs announced.

The inaugural GSHS HOF Class of 2017 are: Coach Wren Aaron (1999-2006), Avery (Berrey) Forrest – Girls Varsity Soccer (1999-2001), Coach Al Borchardt (1999-2009), Colbey Cleckler – Varsity Football/Baseball (2000-2004) and current Football coach, coach Karen Collins (2005-2016), Gulf Shores’ first athletic director and coach Andrea (Joseph) Holmes (1998-2003), Gulf Coast Athletic Club David Lee, Dolphin Athletic Club Thomas Lee, four-time all-county baseball player Glenn Lewellen (2002-2005) and multiple sports star Alisha (Hamrick) Stokes (1999-2002).
