Herbert Ellis Jr., 67, a resident of Daphne, Alabama, passed away Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017.
Mr. Ellis was a longtime member of Summerdale Church of Christ. He was employed with Terminix Pest Control for 20 years.
Mr. Ellis was an avid Alabama fan, and he loved gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Lois Ellis; his sister, Mary Julia Ellis Hansen; a nephew, Hub Long; brothers-in-law, Donald Palmer, Pierre Marquis.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rita G. Ellis of Daphne, Alabama; daughters, Nicky Matthews of LaGrange, Georgia, Olivia Ellis of Daphne, Alabama; grandchildren, Ellis and Emma Matthews, Shruthi and "P" Ellis; sisters, Linda Palmer of Augusta, Georgia, Brenda Eddins (Jerry) of Robertsdale, Alabama, Sharron Marquis of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Susan Jones (Ben) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017 at 11 a.m.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, from 10 a.m. until service time.
Interment will follow in Jubilee Memorial Gardens.
The family suggests donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
