Heritage Junior Women’s Club donates to library

BAY MINETTE, Alabama — The Heritage Junior Women's Club continued its long-standing support of the Bay Minette Public Library with a $1,000 donation to the Summer Reading Program, an annual contribution that spans decades.

Library Director Joanna Bailey said HJWC has been a blessing to the library and to this popular summer enrichment program.

“Our Summer Reading Program has grown tremendously over the years, and the Heritage Junior Women’s Club support has been instrumental in that growth,” she said. “Their commitment to the community and the library in particular is a testament to how much the members care about children and literacy. Thank you HJWC for being so supportive of the library!”

The Bay Minette Public Library kicked off its annual Summer Reading Program on Tuesday, May 28, with hot dogs and a bouncy house at the library.

Programs will meet at 1 p.m. every at the John F. Rhodes Civic Center. The schedule of programs include:

June 4: Spectacular Science Show.

June 11: Adventures of the Gingerbread Man Puppet Show.

June 18: Tom Foolery Juggling Extravaganza.

June 25: Ventriloquist Gene Cordova.

July 2: Animal Stories of Inspiration from the Freedom Ranch.

July 9: Animal Tales.
