Intermdiettes attend Tigerette dance camp

BAY MINETTE, Alabama — The Bay Minette Intermediettes recently attended a special dance camp but they didn't have to travel too far. The Baldwin County High School Tigerettes sponsored the three-day camp exclusively for the BMIS dance team.

This marks the third year that the Tigerettes have held the camp for BMIS. The Intermediettes learned a total of four routines that they can use throughout their season. They also worked on developing and improving their turn and leap technique as well as learning kick technique.

All Intermediettes earned blue superior ribbons in their evaluations. Jillian Dute won the title of Drill Down Princess.

Elizabeth Byrd serves as the director of the Tigerettes and the Bay Minette Middle School Tiger Paws dance team. She said it’s important to foster these young dancers. “We are blessed in Bay Minette to have three school dance teams: starting at the intermediate school going into middle school and culminating at the high school,” she said. “It is great to see the Tigerettes mentor these young dancers and the Intermediettes working hard and finding their passion for dance. It gets me excited about the future of the dance program in the North Baldwin feeder pattern.”
