John Edward Pritchett, age 71, resident of Fairhope, passed away Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017.
John was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. He was a former employee with the city of Fairhope.
John was a faithful volunteer in the Fairhope Civitan Club, Baldwin Pops and Boy Scouts of America. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Dougherty.
John is survived by his wife, Carol H. Pritchett of Fairhope, Alabama; two sons, Gene Pritchett of Huntsville, Alabama and Jack Pritchett of New Orleans, Louisiana; three daughters, Mary Pritchett of Mobile, Alabama, Julie Liller of Mobile, Alabama and Carolyn Aponte of Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren, Nathan, Matthew, Andrew, Christian, Lily Anne, Audrey and Luella; one sister, Mary Jane Fisher of Daphne, Alabama; one brother, Eugene Pritchett of Biloxi, Mississippi; and numerous other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope.
A rosary service will begin at 5 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Fairhope, Alabama.
Interment will follow in Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Red Cross through monetary or blood donation.
