Razorback freshman William Buhl has fit right in with the University of Arkansas men's golf team. The Bayside Academy graduate finished third among the team's entries in his college debut. He shot a 217 (72-76-69) to tie for 30th overall at the Carmel Cup in Carmel, Calif. At the Gopher Invitational the past weekend, he carded a 224 (76-70-78) to place fourth among the Razorbacks. He tied for 39th overall.

FOOTBALL

• Troy University quarterback Brandon Silvers completed 24 of 42 passes for 233 yards against Clemson University. The Gulf Shores High graduate threw two touchdowns and two interceptions.

• Senior defensive back B.T. Sanders led Nicholls State University with eight tackles against University of Georgia. He played for Foley High.

• Also from the Foley Lions, Delta State University tight end Shawn Sanks had a 2-yard touchdown catch against Kentucky Wesleyan.

• The Citadel junior linebacker Myles Pierce, a Daphne High graduate, had five tackles against Mercer.

• University of South Alabama sophomore defensive end Chason Milner had four tackles against Georgia Southern. He is out of Spanish Fort High.

• Junior defensive lineman Garris Goe, who played for Bayside, had four tackles for Washington University in St. Louis against Carnegie-Mellon.

• Faulkner University senior linebacker Keylan Smith, a Fairhope High product, had eight tackles against Bluefield College.

• Junior defensive back Eugene Leach had three tackles for Tuskegee University against Albany State. He played for the Toros.

Women's volleyball

• University of Alabama-Birmingham's Amber Treace had 37 set assists and six digs against New Orleans. The Spanish Fort alumna added three kills.

• Spring Hill College freshman Taylor Hurst had season highs of eight kills, five digs and three set assists against Lane College. The outside hitter played for Gulf Shores’ Dolphins.

• Belhaven University freshman setter/defensive specialist Emily Davis, another former GS Dolphin, had a season-high 21 digs against Keystone College.
