In his June 21 debut, Salter suffered the loss after allowing no hits and one earned run in two-thirds of an inning. He walked four batters. During an appearance Saturday, he earned his first save by throwing one hitless, scoreless inning.

He entered July with a 0-1 record, one save and a 3.38 earned run average in three games.
