FOLEY - Keith Dunnavant will be speaking to the Foley Kiwanis Club and Foley Lions Club on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 12 p.m. The event will be held at Vallarta Restaurant (1145 South McKenzie Street, Foley) and is open to everyone who is interested in attending. Club members will be provided a paid lunch; nonmembers in attendance will be responsible for the purchase of their own meal.

Dunnavant is the author of seven books, including “Spy Pilot”, a true story of Cold War intrigue and redemption (which he co-authored with Francis Gary Powers, Jr.), and definitive biographies of football icons Paul "Bear" Bryant, Bart Starr and Joe Montana. His books often explore the collision of sports and culture, including “The Missing Ring”, which focused on the 1966 University of Alabama football team's pursuit of perfection in an imperfect world, against the backdrop of the civil rights movement, the Vietnam War, and a time and place on the brink. Dunnavant also produces documentary films, including “Three Days at Foster,” about the African-American athletes who shattered the Alabama color barrier. He can currently be seen in the ESPN documentary series “The American Game” and SEC Network's “Saturdays in the South.”
