Kena-Marie Chastidy Spivey

Dec. 16, 2013-Sept. 29, 2016

God rescued Kena-Marie Chastidy Spivey, 2, away from her battle with cancer and she earned her angel wings Sept. 29, 2016.

Kena was born Dec. 16, 2013 in Foley Alabama to Charles and Dawn Spivey. Born with an amazing spirit that she shared with everyone.

Although she began experiencing medical problems soon after birth, she was not diagnosed with cancer until she was 6 months old - stage 3 germ cell/yolk sac tumor.

She battled against cancer her entire life and along that journey became even more of a blessing and inspiration to not only her family but to countless others. The cancer, however, never took Kena's huge personality and smile.

She loved big and lived big. Kena loved flowers and in appreciation of them, she also taught us to never be too busy to stop and smell the flowers. Kena also taught us to look at life through her beautiful sparkle-filled eyes. With her courage, she led us to believe that each day is a blessing and a chance to make the most of that day and be happy.

Kena loved monkeys, her blankets, music, books, The Chipmunks, the movie Rio and the color pink.

Kena-Marie's life, though short to us, was such a big life, achieving more and giving more happiness than most will in a lifetime.

Kena is survived by her parents, Charles and Dawn Spivey of Foley, Alabama; one sister, Kierra Spivey of Foley; one brother, Kody Spivey of Foley; grandparents Frances Spivey of Foley, Tami (Mike) Day of Silverhill, Alabama and Les (Tina) Dahlberg of Bottineau, North Dakota; aunts, uncles, cousins, many more loved ones -p both family and friends.

Kena was preceded in death by her PawPaw Donald Spivey and Great-Gram Wilma Kofoid.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Robertsdale, Alabama.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016 at 2 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in Robertsdale.
