Kenneth Childress

Kenneth was born to Gladys and Carlisle Childress in Foley, Alabama. Kenneth graduated Foley High School in 1957 and joined the Army National Guard shortly thereafter.

While attending Foley schools, he met his devoted wife of nearly 28 years, Janice Lipscomb from Vernant Park.

He was well-known in Foley, as he spent 55 years as a barber in downtown Foley.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Gladys and Carlisle; sister, Becky Childress Walter; and trusty dog and friend, Reggie.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; brother, Hugh Childress; daughter, Lori (Randy) Davis; sons, Darrin (Desiree') Childress, Jeffrey (Lisa) Childress. Kenneth also leaves behind his grandchildren, Lesli (Bill) Fason, Michael (Brooke) Davis, Lauren Young; great-grandchildren, Sam and Mollie Fason; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be at Pine Rest Memorial Park on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 11 a.m.

The family will visit with friends and family one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to Affinity Life Care Center, 12440 Magnolia Ave., Magnolia Springs, AL 36535.
