Following an emotional performance dedicated to his mother, Bay Minette native Kirk Jay advanced to the final 11 on Season 15 of “The Voice,” which aired Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 19 and 20, shown on WPMI NBC 15.

The former Bay Minette resident and Baldwin County High student, now a resident of Montgomery, once again was saved early in Tuesday night’s elimination, announced second behind Reagan Strange from Adam.

Jay advanced to next week’s competition with a performance of Lonestar’s “I’m Already There.”

“If it wasn’t for my mom, I wouldn’t be here,” Jay said. “She has sacrificed everything for me. She has never seen me perform live, so I wanted to do something special with her here.”

Jay advanced, along with fellow country singers Chris Kroeze and Dave Fenley as all of the remaining trio on Team Blake moved on to perform Monday, Nov. 26 before facing another live elimination on Tuesday, Nov. 27. Shows begin at 7 p.m. (CT), locally on WPMI NBC 15.

Kroeze advanced by performing The Beatles, “Let It Be,” dedicated to his hometown in Wisconsin, while Fenley was the last member of Team Blake saved with a performance of Lee Brice’s “Hard to Love,” dedicated to his wife.

Comeback stage performer Lynnea Moorer continued to advance in the competition on Team Kelly, topping Team Adam’s Tyke James and Team Jennifer’s Sandyredd in Tuesday night’s “Instant Save” with a performance of Alicia Keys’ “If I Ain’t Got You,” following Monday’s performance of Selena Gomez’s “Wolves.”

Also advancing to the top 11 were Team Adam’s DeAndre Nico; MaKenzie Thomas and Kennedy Holmes from Team Jennifer; Chevel Shepherd, Sarah Grace and Kymberli Joye from Team Kelly.
