Town hosts second annual Christmas decorating contest

LOXLEY, Alabama — The town of Loxley and the Loxley Public Library are inviting residents to “Light Up, Loxley!” kicking off the second annual Christmas decorating contest recently.

“In order to promote and encourage the beauty of our town, the Loxley Public Library is sponsoring a fun and friendly Christmas decorating contest,” according to a release from Loxley Library Director Patty Hudson.

For a fee of $20, your residence (exterior and yard) will be entered into the contest. Judging will take place in the evening hours of Dec. 16-19.
The winner will receive half of the collected entry fees (split-the-pot). The winner will be notified with a phone call on Dec. 21 and will be posted on Loxley Public Library's Facebook page.
Pick up entry form at the Loxley Public Library or Loxley Town Hall. Please turn in fee and entry form to the Loxley Public Library or Loxley Town Hall by Dec. 17. For more information, call the library at 251-964-5695.

The Loxley Public Library is also hosting a book and DVD sale going on during the months of November and December at the library, 1001 E. Loxley Ave.

Adult books are 50 cents for hardbacks, 25 cents for paperbacks. Adult DVDs are also 50 cents each. All children’s books and DVDs are 25 cents each.
