Lighthouse Academy hosts grand opening in Bay Minette

BAY MINETTE, Alabama -- The Lighthouse Academy of Excellence & Education held a ribbon cutting and open house at its newest location at 1829 S. U.S. 31, Bay Minette on Friday, March 13.

The school, which ranges from 6 weeks to 12 years, founded by Apostle Floyd Nelson of the Lighthouse Holiness Church in Grand Bay, now includes five locations, two in Mobile, two in Grand Bay and the location in Bay Minette which opened in November.

Nelson’s daughter, Tejuania Nelson, serves as director of education.

Friday's event included live entertainment, demonstrations by the Bay Minette Fire Department, food and special guests reading to the students.

“Llama, Llama,” based on the books of Anna Dewdney, was the theme for the day.
