ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — Two young residents were crowned during the Little Miss HoneyBee Pageant, held Saturday, Oct. 12 at the PZK Hall in Robertsdale.

This is the seventh consecutive year for the pageant to raise food donations for local schools’ “Food for Backpacks” program, collecting nearly 4,000 food items and raising enough for almost two book scholarships.

“Each year, we do better than in the past,” said Little Miss HoneyBee Pageant President Stephanie Kroll. “We’re hoping to get that second (scholarship) and work on a third by graduation.”

This year’s pageant included 22 contestants from all over Baldwin County, “which allowed us to fill the PZK with family and friends,” Kroll said. “We are so very proud of each girl, and the contribution they are making to Baldwin County.”

Kroll said she wanted to give a special thanks to the city of Robertsdale and all volunteers and sponsors.

“These donations are coming at a critical time, the holidays are here,” she said. “Many kids will benefit from our donations.”

This year a second category was added, allowing the pageant to crown two queens. They are Caroline Taylor, Little Miss HoneyBee; and Portia Hollis, Young Miss HoneyBee.

Queen’s Court members are Adalyn Lyles, Audrey O’Conner, Emma Kate Lynn, Most Photogenic; Jorja Corrino, Lucy Delana Stefskal, Augusta Ray Pepperman, Miss Congeniality; and Kinley Reese Mermecz, Miss Charity.
