ROBERTSDALE, Alabama -- The George P. Thames Adult Activity Center in Robertsdale was filled to capacity on Wednesday, Sept. 26 to honor Activity Center Director Sarah Duncan, who retired in September after serving as director for nearly two decades.

Duncan was just the second director to serve the city, following the Center’s founding director Anna Belle Beverly.

Mayor Charles Murphy and several city employees were on hand to honor Duncan, also welcoming the center’s new director Amy Ochello.

The Adult Activity Center hosts daily, weekly and monthly events for those over the age of 50 at 22651 E. Chicago St., and at the PZK Hall, 17933 Alabama 104 in Robertsdale.

For more information call the center at 251-947-8973.
