Marian Therese Lami

Marian Therese Lami was born Oct.26, 1954, the seventh of 10 children of Harold and Mary Kleinschrodt Lami. A native of Mobile, Alabama, she was a resident of Fairhope, Alabama at the time of her passing, April 14, 2018.

Marian graduated from Murphy High School and Spring Hill College, with degrees in in math and Spanish. She taught graduate level courses at the University of Alabama and was an avid Bama fan. She retired from federal service as a computer programmer at NAS Pensacola.

Marian cherished being from a large family, sharing stories of family adventures at Alabama Port and the Mobile River Delta. Marian savored vintage TV westerns, including Gunsmoke, Bonanza and The Big Valley.

Raising finches was her passion, referring to them as "my babies."

She was a gifted pianist and a John Denver and Barry Manilow enthusiast. Our family enjoyed holidays with her playing piano and everyone singing along.

After retiring she sacrificed much to provide care and a home for our Mother.

Marian was a longtime resident of Lillian, Alabama, an organist at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and presided as a member of the Parish Council. Currently, she was an organist at Christ the King Catholic Church, Daphne, Alabama.

Marian had a charitable spirit, was a devout Catholic, longing to be with her Heavenly Father, and reunited with her departed family.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William "Willie" and Mary Lami, Frank "Paw Paw" and Anna Kleinschrodt Sr.; parents, Harold and Mary Lami Sr.; and beloved nephew, William "Sammy" Tynes.

She is survived by brothers, Gene (Lorene) Lami, Dennis (Patti), Joseph (Elsa), Vince (Rosa), Chris (Laurie) and Art (Bev); sisters, Rose Lami (Bill) Tynes, Cathy (Raymond) Long and Michele (Wilson) Barrow; cherished first cousin, Linda Lee Richardson of Grand Bay, Alabama; numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Mass of the Christian Burial was held at Christ the King Catholic Church, Daphne Alabama, Friday, April 20, with interment in Magnolia Cemetery in Mobile. Rev. Matthew J. O'Connor officiated.

"Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen."
