Michael David Willard
November 18, 1961 – December 21, 2020
Michael David Willard, 59, passed away Monday, December 21, 2020. He was a 1980 graduate of Fairhope High School. Mike was one who could fix very nearly anything. Repairing electronics was his specialty and he began his career working for Nuetzel’s TV. He worked there for many years and then later purchased it, realizing his dream of owning his own business, becoming Willard TV, Inc., and U-Haul Rentals. Mike was always a kindhearted person and an honest man who would help anyone in need. He loved his family, enjoyed cooking, trying new recipes, and taking a ride every afternoon in his golf cart. He is preceded in death by his father, Curtis B. Willard and his sister, Robin Thacker. He is survived by his loving wife, Laila Venable Willard, Fairhope; five children, David Willard, Jacksonville, FL, Perri (Jesse) Farlow, Silverhill, AL, Rebecca (Aaron) Yuhas, Austin, TX, Jessie Willard, Fairhope, and Casey Willard, Charleston SC; two stepchildren, Benjamin Suhy and Zaiden Suhy; four grandchildren, Emery, Nash, and Huxford Farlow and Maxwell Fuernrohr. Also surviving is his mother, Joy West Willard, Fairhope; his siblings, Dian Sanders, Magnolia Springs, AL, Warren Willard, Kilgore, TX, Richard Willard, Bay Minette, Jack (Debbie) Willard, Daphne, AL, Carol (Ashley) Sirmon, Daphne, AL, Mary (Don) Adcock, Fairhope, AL, and Donna (Trent) Wilhelm, Fairhope, AL; father-in-law, Walter Venable III (Del); mother-in-law, Juilette Venable; and his brother-in-law, Kenneth Thacker, Daphne, AL and many other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Jamie Gray, Walter Venable, Trent Wilhelm, Don Adcock, Warren Willard, Jack Willard and honorary pallbearers, Richard Willard, David Willard and Lee Wilson. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Fairhope on Saturday December 26th. The family will receive friends at 10:00am, the Service will begin at 11:00 with Graveside to immediately follow at Memory Gardens in Fairhope. Officiating will be Dr. Eric Hankins.
