Michael W. Cabaniss, 63, of New Hanover Township, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019.
He was the husband of Aurelyn Taboclaon Cabaniss, whom he married on May 25, 1997 in Bay Minette, Alabama.
Born in Bainbridge, Maryland on May 14, 1956, Michael was the son of the late George M. Cabaniss and Betty Jean (Johnson) Cabaniss.
Michael graduated from Baldwin County High School in Bay Minette, Alabama in 1974 and then received his bachelor's degree from Troy State University. He then served in the U.S. Navy Reserve for eight years.
After his time in the military, he began his 30-year career as an animal care specialist at Merck & Co. Inc. in Lansdale, Pennsylvania.
In his spare time he enjoyed collecting vintage albums, and listening to old classic rock and country music. His greatest enjoyment was following and supporting his son, Micah's music career in any way possible.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, Micah A. Cabaniss, Pottstown, Pennsylvania; his brothers, George Cabaniss (Patricia), Mobile, Alabama and Robert Cabaniss (Nancy), Florida; his mother-in-law, Aurella Taboclaon; and his nieces and nephews, Kyle, Nicole, Robert Jr., and Christine.
Viewings will take place on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday, Sept. 6, 2019 from 10-11 a.m. at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464.
A life celebration will take place on Friday, Sept. 6, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will take place after the service at Limerick Garden of Memories.
