National Wild Turkey Federation Donates $1000 for ROTC Air Rifle Range

Posted

On May 4, 2018, Mr. Roger Guillen, a representative of the National Wild Turkey Federation, presented Colonel (Ret) Scherry Douglas with $1000 to finance the construction of an on-campus air rifle marksmanship range. The donation was facilitated by Foley Assistant Principal Mark Wilson, an NWTF member. Douglas stated, “We want to thank NWTF for such a generous gift that will help purchase much needed equipment to build a long-awaited shooting range for our cadets. All JROTC units are eligible to compete in air rifle marksmanship competitions and with the construction of our own range, the marksmanship team can begin to hone their air rifle skills.” In the past, the team has used the National Guard Armory currently under renovation. Logistically, an on-campus range will make a huge difference.
