New Hangar Communities Planned for two Baldwin County Airports

Posted

Regency Hangars has been conditionally approved to build master planned hangar communities at the Gulf Shores Jack Edwards National Airport (JKA) and Fairhope Airport (CQF).

The hangars at both airports will be individually owned, and will include a range of hangar options, including three different T-hangar footprints and two corporate box sizes. The pre-construction hangar purchase opportunity is scheduled for Nov. 15, at its website regencyhangars.com with a total of 25 hangars will be available for reservations at each location.

“Both the Gulf Shores and Fairhope Airport Authorities have developed excellent infrastructure toward expanding hangar options at the airport, including the addition of new taxiways to serve development-ready land. It has truly been a pleasure working with the leadership at both airports on this project, and I think this is going to be enormous opportunity for the Baldwin County aviation community to acquire personal and corporate hangars for long-term use,” says Jay Taffet, president of Regency Hangars.

The hangar community at the two airports– branded Regency Hangar Village JKA and Regency Hangar Village CQF – will be set up like homeowner associations, with Regency Hangars managing all the infrastructure and operating requirements of the community, including airport ground lease obligations, structural reserves, insurance and common area maintenance.

Regency Hangars is projecting upscale hangar units that feature 45’ door widths on the T-hangars and 55’/50’ door widths on the corporate units, all with insulation, ample interior lighting, electrical outlets and rough-in plumbing.

“Our goal is to develop hangar communities that reflect the same pride that aircraft owners have in their planes. We want Regency Hangar Village to be a true aircraft ‘home’, not just metal storage buildings. We think we’ve accomplished this with the design of the hangar units, as well as the projected community amenities,” according to Taffet.

Regency Hangars will also be offering custom hangar builds for owners who would like to be part of the community, but with larger and more specialized facilities.

Hangar reservations for the Gulf Shores and Fairhope Regency Hangars community opens online at regencyhangars.com Nov. 15.

Regency Hangars specializes in hangar community developments at Gulf South airports that have land available for General Aviation tenancy and existing demand for corporate hangars and T-hangars. All hangar units are sold pre-construction, and the development is managed by a hangar community association.

Regency Hangars is a Gracen Jules company, a private air development and services company focused on hangar/facility builds, aircraft acquisitions and operator startups. Both companies are based in New Orleans.
