Norman Lee Thomas Sr. of Fairhope, born Feb. 15, 1943 in Mobile, Alabama, passed away peacefully from this life at his home on Friday, Aug. 11, 2017.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl R. Thomas Sr.; and mother, Lillian Garris Thomas of Plateau, Alabama.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Macpherson Thomas; his son, Lee Thomas; daughter, Mary Anne (Tommy) Summerlin; and his grandchildren, Forrest and Brooke Drinkwine. Also surviving is his brother, Earl R. Thomas Jr.
Norman worked as a lifelong paperworker for 38 years. He was president of UPIU Local 1575 at Scott Paper Company in Mobile for over 23 years.
Services were held Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at South River Park Church of God.
Interment was held in Timney South River Park Cemetery.
