Orange Beach celebrates Inaugural homecoming week

Posted

Last week Orange Beach High, Middle and Elementary celebrated their Inaugural Homecoming with a week of festivities.

The week started with students and staff dressing up in their best throw-back attire and the houses competed in minute-to-win-it games. The JV volleyball and JV football were both victorious over Cottage Hill.

The waterways of Orange Beach served as the parade route for the inaugural boat parade. Each house decorated their boat and dressed up. Seven local restaurants hosted a house for dinner before the community pep rally at Mako Football Field. Due to the burn restrictions, the bonfire had to be cancelled.

The Mako’s crowned their first homecoming king and queen Sept. 26 at the Makos football game against Elberta. Congratulation Houston Bryant and Evie Rosa Butler on being chosen king and queen.
