Paul Girard Stapleton, a native of New York and a resident of Daphne, AL, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at the age of 79. Paul was a graduate of Mount Saint Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, Maryland. His long career took him around the world. But, above all else, Paul was dedicated to his faith, wife, and children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Ann Stapleton and daughter, Catherine. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Carter (Ryan) and grandchildren, Philip and Mary Helen of Spanish Fort, AL; daughter, Susan Simon (Bruce) and grandchildren, Patrick and William of Burlington, NC; daughter, Elizabeth Greenway (Todd) and grandchildren Georgia and Evan of Richmond, VA; son, Timothy Stapleton (Kelly) and grandchildren Parker, Tobyn and MaKenna of Raleigh, NC.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Catholic Church in Daphne, AL. Interment will be held at a later date at St. Joseph-on-Carrollton-Manor in Frederick, MD.
