BAY MINETTE, Alabama — Pine Grove Elementary School is starting a school newspaper as part of its Club Day activities.

The club members will be responsible for coming up with story ideas to fill the pages. Guest speaker Tina Covington talked to the club about how to start the process and brought along newspaper badges, courtesy of the City of Bay Minette.

She shared back copies of Gulf Coast Media’s newspaper editions for members to review to draw inspiration. The club members also discussed job duties and selected Kyan Levins as editor.

Other students divided into sports, comics, photography staff and distribution, among other duties. They spent the rest of their club time brainstorming ideas and broke into their various groups to start strategizing.
