DAPHNE, Alabama — The “Baldwin Prays: Lord, Heal Our Land!” event will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Daphne Civic Center, 2603 U.S. 98.

The event was to be part of two events, but has now been combined into one. The event previously scheduled for the Baldwin County Coliseum in Robertsdale was canceled because the facility is currently being used as a shelter for Hurricane Sally victims.

“This is a solemn assembly of intercessory prayer for our nation,” according to a flyer issued by the group, “called by collective pastors across our county.”

According to the website, baldwinprays.com, a group of pastors in Baldwin County, consisting of J.P. Wilson of Summit Church of Foley, John Schell of Harvest Church of Summerdale, Judd Sessions of Foley Assembly of God, Jeff Copeland of FBC Robertsdale, Rife Stewart of Destiny Church, and Andrew Mullek of Central Community Church, among others has been meeting for prayer and encouragement since 2016.

According to the website, baldwinprays.com, the mission of the group is “intercession for Baldwin County, or state and our nation. We intercede for our leaders, community, churches, businesses and families.”

“Our pastors prayer group has welcomed pastors and ministry leaders across denominational lines to come together several times monthly for fellowship and prayer.”

The group’s vision is to create a regional prayer movement which transcends denominations, race and culture, according to the site. The partnership also includes Hispanic Ministry International and Morning Start Missionary Baptist in Foley, Freedom Now Church in Elberta, Genesis Church of Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, Faith Fellowship, Family Harvest Church, and the Assembly of God Church in Robertsdale. The site also invites parachurch ministries and businesses to partner with the group and includes a “Declaration of Prayer,” written by Mark A. Parsons.

"BALDWIN PRAYS"
Heavenly Father we seek Your face and say

No more retreat, no more surrender,
We ask for the mercy and justice
That only You can render

The high places of sin that’s plagued us
For so many years, now and past,
Have prevailed far too long
And seems have been given a pass

Baldwin’s cry for redemption and forgiveness
Will now echo through word and deed,
And all the high places of old
Are coming down in defeat

We Your people called by Your name
Sense the gravitas of the hour,
praying for every heart, soul and mind
 be forgiven, saved and empowered

The reign of fear, despair and destruction
through strongholds uncontested,
are now being exposed by the light
and willfully rejected

When we as God’s people come together united
Even the skeptics will be amazed,
At the miracles, signs and wonders
That follow as Baldwin Prays!
