Registration underway for Tiger Sharks Swim Team

BAY MINETTE, Ala. — Registration is underway for the Bay Minette Swim Team. The Tiger Sharks team is open to children ages 5-18 years old. Orientation will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at the pool.

Registration is $110 which includes a team swim cap and shirt. There is a $10 discount for each additional child in the same family.

No previous experience is required, and swimmers do not have to be a member of the Bay Minette Municipal Pool to participate.

The Tiger Sharks Swim Team will kick off its season May 30 with practices at the Bay Minette Municipal Pool. Practice sessions will be held Monday through Thursdays and will take place 8 to 9:10 a.m. for intermediate and advanced swimmers and from 9:15 to 9:55 a.m. for beginners.

Tucker Clay will serve as Head Coach and Daylen DeMint will be the assistant coach. Clay has been a long-time swimmer and will again serve as a lifeguard for the Bay Minette Municipal Pool. She has served in many leadership roles while a student at Baldwin County High School including senior class president. Clay attends the University of Southern Mississippi where she is member of the Delta Gamma Sorority, Dixie Darlings and Diamond Darlings.

DeMint is a junior at Baldwin County High School and has been a member of the varsity swim for three years and served as team captain for two. She has advanced to sectionals two years in a row. She has been a part of the Tiger Sharks swim team for four years. DeMint is also a member of the National Honor Society, Diamond Darlings, and varsity basketball teams.
