ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — The Robertsdale Alumni Association handed out 16 scholarships during a special ceremony held Tuesday, May 12 at the Honeybee Park pavilion in Robertsdale.
The Alumni Association hosts two annual fundraisers for scholarships, the annual Forks and Spoons Tasting Spree is held annually in October at the PZK Hall, and the Annual Tea Party, which celebrated its 12th year in March at the Baldwin County Coliseum.
The theme for this year’s Alumni Team was “Hat’s Off To Disney,” including a total of 57 tables, each decorated with a Disney theme.
The 2021 Alumni Tea will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Robertsdale with tables decorated highlighting businesses, people, events and families from Jan. 6, 1921 to Jan. 6, 2021.
Tuesday’s awards were handed out by Alumni Association Treasurer Evelyn Davison Lowery, Class of 1966; her daughter, Lori Lowery Terrell, Class of 1994, and Membership chairman Stephanie Kroll, with assistance from the Little Miss Honeybee queens.
Scholarship recipients for 2020 included:
Joey Steele Memorial Scholarship, presented by Joy and Dr. Joseph Steele III: Maggie Moore and Brandon Wilson (not pictured).
Mrs. Mertis Teel Childress Memorial Scholarship, presented by the Class of 1937: Sabrina Brazwell.
Additional scholarships were presented to Joseph Krob, Zander Westphal, Sarah Shipp, Isaac Godfrey, Jacob Eakin, Ashley Campos, Christyn Reville, Hallie Wells, Anna Racine, Trooper Murphy, Mallory McRae, Emma Spears and Brooklyn Haigler.
