RHS going “Under the Sea” for Homecoming festivities

Robertsdale High School will crown its 2016 Queen and King during Homecoming festivities on Friday. Homecoming King will be crowned during a pep rally beginning at 2:20 p.m. in the school gym. Homecoming Queen will be crowned during halftime of the Golden Bears home game against 6A Region 1 rival LeFlore on Friday night at J.D. Sellars Stadium. ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — Robertsdale High School will go exploring “Under the Sea” with a week full of activities planning for Homecoming.

Beginning Monday, Oct. 10, there will be a week full of dress-up days, including Matching Monday, Tacky Tourist Tuesday, Walt Disney Wednesday, Throwback Thursday and Show Your Spirit Friday.

Homecoming weekend will kick off with the parade beginning at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13 with a pep rally beginning at 2:20 p.m. on Friday which will include the announcement of the Homecoming King.

The Homecoming Queen will be announced at halftime during the Golden Bears contest against

6A Region 1 rival the LeFlore Rattlers. Game time begins at 7 p.m. The Students Inspiring Students princesses will also be featured during the game.

Members of the 2016 Homecoming Court are:

Seniors: Miranda Campbell, Michayla Eakin, Danielle Floyd, Emily Garrison, Sofia Meza, Clair Robbins, Erin Summerville, Ashley Taylor, Whitney Williams. King’s Court: Hunter Allen, Kaleb Devine, Taylor Garriga, Ian Jones, Nate Krebs, Blake Nichols, Lane Pope, Hayden Salter, Michael Zona.

Juniors: Kaitlyn Allen, Daizee Finley, Betsy Hurtado.

Sophomores: Anna Criswell, Catie Roberts, Melody Weaver.

Freshmen: Bailey Hart, Maggie Moore, Andy Taylor.

The week of festivities will conclude on Saturday with the Homecoming Dance, featuring the theme “Under the Sea” from 7 to 11 p.m. in the Robertsdale High School cafeteria.
