ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — Robertsdale High School plans to “Party Like It’s 1999” in 2018 with Homecoming Week set to begin Monday, Sept. 24.

RHS will celebrate through the decades beginning with 50s Monday, where students are encouraged to dress accordingly with slicked-back hair and rolled up sleeves.

Tuesday, students plan to go psychedelic and spread the peace around to celebrate the 60s, followed by a “Disco Party” to celebrate the 70s on Wednesday.

On Thursday, bust out the legwarmers and polish up your moonwalk with the 80s. Students will line up behind the school for the annual Homecoming Parade, which is set to begin at 3:30.

Best class float will be awarded based on creativity, school spirit, quality of construction and enthusiasm.

Friday is Spirit Day. Wear your neon Homecoming shirt or RHS gear. Bear News will present its annual LipDub and will be filming leading into gym for the pep rally.

The Homecoming Court will be presented during the pep rally and the king will be crowned. The queen will be crowned during halftime as the Golden Bears take on the Faith Academy Rams with kickoff set for 7 p.m. at J.D. Sellars Stadium on the campus of Robertsdale Elementary School.

A tailgate party will be held in the stadium parking lot from 5 to 6 p.m. with food for sale and corn-hole games.

Then it’s time to “Party Like It’s 1999” at the annual Homecoming Dance, to be held from 7 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday at the Baldwin County Coliseum, 19477 Fairground Road. Tickets are $15 and are on sale through Sept. 28 during lunch in the library. All tickets must be purchased in advance and there are no refunds.

Homecoming theme days are subject to change. Contact Amanda Givens at agivens@bcbe.org for more information.
