Robertsdale seniors celebrate October birthdays

ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — Robertsdale seniors celebrated October birthdays with a festival of fall flavors on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at the George P. Thames Adult Activity Center.

Those celebrating birthdays in October received goodie bags that were all treats and no tricks. Lunch featured meatloaf with a variety of sides and desserts.

Normally held the second Wednesday of every month, this month’s celebration was pushed back because many seniors were participating in the annual Alabama Master’s Games in Valley.

Celebrating birthdays in October included David Kilcrease, Martha Grant, Illah Barlow, Frances Frayne, Nancy Prahl, Colton Sinclair, Robbie Lynn, Loretta Packham, Randy Garner, Lana Willis, Karen Cluster, John Underwood, Curtis Lee, Joe Cutro, Sharon Ware, Rita Shores, Mary Ann Gould, Freddie Thomas, Sandra Busby, Sarah Duncan, Jon Ellison, EllaJane Davis, Georgia Rudolph, Angela DeVoss, Jean Sobel, Phyllis Beam, Gladys LeBarre, Justin Hayles, Cathy Byrd, Edna Aldridge and Steve Matz.

The George P. Thames Adult Activity Center hosts daily, weekly, monthly and special events for adults over age 50 at the center on East Chicago Street and at the PZK Hall on Alabama 104 in Robertsdale.

Everyone is invited on Thursday, Oct. 31 for a special Halloween Costume Party beginning at 11 a.m. at the Adult Activity Center. The event will include lunch.
