Ronald Helton of Foley, Alabama passed away Friday May 4 at the age of 72.

A celebration of life service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Monday, May 14.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Louis "Til" Helton; and mother, Lola Helton Roberts; brothers, Louis Helton, Frank Helton, James "Buddy" Helton; and sisters, Mildred Gass, Betty Pride; and infant son, Jason Helton.

Ron is survived by his wife, Bernice Howard Helton; daughters, Lisa Wooley (Clint), Erika Liles (Ricky); son, Michael Helton (Adriane); and brother, Ken Helton (Kay). He also leaves behind stepchildren, Steve Franklin, Sherry Franklin and Nick Franklin.

Ron is also survived by grandchildren, Tyler Wooley (Cameron), Drew Wooley, Amanda Collins (Grant), William Liles, Hunter Liles, Jamie Liles, Iris Helton; and great-granddaughter, Addelyn Liles. He also leaves behind special nephew, Robert Helton (Bobbe); and many other nephews, nieces and aunts; six step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Ron grew up in Bon Secour where he graduated from Foley High School. He was a proud member of the 1962 FHS football team and later inducted into the Hall of Fame. He continued his football career at Troy where he graduated.

Ron worked in the homebuilding industry until his retirement.

The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to his home church, St. Paul's.
