Funeral services for Sarah Calhoun Spivey, 62, a native of Murray, Kentucky and resident of Robertsdale, Alabama, who died Sunday, Dec. 3, will be held in the chapel of Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8.

Interment will follow in Pine Rest Memorial Park in Foley.

Sarah Spivey earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. She had served as director of nursing of the Foley Nursing Home and as president of Pine Rest Funeral Home and Memorial Park.

She was a past president of the Foley Rotary Club and a Rotary Foundation Paul Harris Fellow.

She served for many years as a girls' fast-pitch softball coach in association with Foley Sports and coached the Alabama Riptide, a tournament softball team, to the Fastpitch Softball World Series.

She is survived by her four children, Brandon (Shannon) Spivey of Foley, Austin (Jason) Nunn of Tega Cay, South Carolina, Jessica (Brian) Thorpe of Silverhill and Samantha Spivey of Gadsden. She is survived by three grandsons, Devin Spivey and Dylan Spivey of Foley and Declan Nunn of Tega Cay, South Carolina; three granddaughters, Raeleigh Duddy, Grace Thorpe and Anna Thorpe of Silverhill. She is also survived by her siblings, Craig (Patti) Calhoun of Tampa, Florida, Debbie Calhoun of Fairhope, Dr. Kathy (Steve) Trawick of Suwanee, Georgia and Tammie (Mark) Fleming of Foley; and six nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Ruth (Kesterson) Calhoun.

The family will receive friends at Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale from noon until 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8.
