Sen. Doug Jones announces Military Service Academy office nomination information sessions

Posted

Senator Doug Jones announced today that his local staff members will soon host military service academy nomination information sessions across Alabama for students and families interested in learning more about the nomination process.

The sessions will take place in Birmingham, Anniston, Florence, Mobile, Madison, Selma, Montgomery, and Dothan.

Representatives from Jones’ state offices will lead the events and answer questions from prospective applicants.

In order to successfully complete the admissions process, applicants must receive a nomination from a member of Congress, or the vice president. Interested students are encouraged to seek nominations from both their United States Senators, the United States Representative from their district, and the vice president.

Additionally, students who are legal dependents of active duty or retired military members, with a minimum of eight years of service, are eligible to seek a nomination from the president.

For more information about how to obtain a nomination from Senator Jones is available on his website at https://www.jones.senate.gov/help/academy-nominations
