The Gulf Shores Police Department is currently investigating an incident involving gun shots around the public beach near the Hangout.
According to witnesses, gun shots were fired in the parking lot between the Hangout and the Pink Pony restaurant.
Gulf Shores Police Sergeant Jason Woodruff told The Islander via email at least one person had fired shots around 11:30 p.m. Saturday night.
"We are investigating a report of shots fired at the public beach near The Hangout last night around 11:30 p.m.," Woodruff wrote. "Apparently one or possibly two people fired shots into the air during a fight."
Woodruff added that no one was injured in the incident and that the police were currently seeking suspects.
"No suspects have been identified to me and our detectives are investigating," Woodruff wrote. "No injuries occurred."
Woodruff said the department was investigating the matter and would not release additional statements before 10 a.m. on Monday, Apr. 3.
