DAPHNE, Ala. — Addison Reagan’s sacrifice bunt in the top of the ninth moved tie-break runner Taylor LeDrew to third. Bailey Keith then singled the go-ahead run home for the Pirates who took a 1-0 win at Daphne Thursday night.

Fairhope junior righthander Samantha Yarbrough pitched a no-hit, nine-inning shutout and finished with 17 strikeouts for the win. She scattered five walks.

Her counterpart McKenna Pierce for Daphne scattered three hits. One each by Yarbrough and LeDrew before the winning RBI by Keith. Pierce also went the distance and struck out 12 Pirates with four walks. The Trojans’ offense got the tying run to third in the ninth, but couldn’t get her home.

The Pirates host Mobile Christian Monday at 5 p.m. and host cross-county rival Foley Tuesday, March 7 in their first Class 7A, Area 2 meeting before hosting McGill-Toolen Catholic in another Area 2 contest Thursday, March 9.

The Trojans travel to Gulf Shores Tuesday, March 7 for their first Class 6A, Area 2 showdown of 2017 at 7 p.m. Daphne is set to host Robertsdale Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
