SUMMERDALE, Ala. — The Summerdale Middle School Panthers, coached by Virginia Bodden, finished with an 8-2 record to claim the county title with a 39-28 win over Perdido in the championship game. Eighth-grader Kaley Powell helped lead the Panthers this season with 111 points.
The 2016-17 championship team includes: Zaria Billingsley, Shakira Brown, Jasmine Ford, Catheryn French, Kalli Hubbard, Jasmine Hurtado, Shyla Mosley, Maddy Newberry, Kaley Powell, Tina Sanspree, Laura Santos and Cadi Walker.
