BAY MINETTE — The Coastal Alabama Sun Chiefs took both league games of their home-standing double header with Wallace Community College, Selma (10-8, 19-9) on Saturday. The Sun Chiefs improved to 23-14 overall and 17-3 in Alabama Community College Conference play where they lead the South Division, just ahead of Chattahoochie Valley (36-9).

Josh Russo belted three home runs in the nightcap for CACC as Stetson Scott picked up the win in five innings. Russo finished with five RBIs and scored four times to lead the attack. Seyjuan Lawrence added four RBIs, Justin Dunnam three and Chad Broussard two. Scott (5-1) went four-and-two-thirds and enjoyed a 19-4 lead before seven Sun Chief errors and intermittent Wallace-Selma hits helped the Pats close the gap.

Jackson Whigham came in to close the final inning and a third for Coastal Bay Minette. He gave up one hit and no runs in what was left of the fifth and struck out the side in the sixth.

In the opener Jonathan White (2-3) got the win going five innings on seven hits, three strike outs, no walks and one run. Chase Lambert closed the seventh for the save with one hit, two strike outs, one walk and no runs. In between the Patriots rallied and closed the gap to within two runs.

Thomas Christine led at the plate for the Sun Chiefs with three RBIs and two hits. Broussard, Cook, Lawrence, John Sklopan, Walker Watts and Luke Wall each added one RBI. Russo had a double. Lawrence and Watts each had a sacrifice. On the bases Dunnam had two steals, Cook had one for the series.
