Suzanne (DeVange) Carlson passed into Christ’s glory on Monday June 27 at 11 a.m. Her body succumbed to lung cancer.

She is painfully missed by her husband of 48 years, Alden Carlson; her daughter, Keirsten; son, Kristoff; and by five grandchildren; plus one great-granddaughter.

She was devoted to her family and to her church family, and was a faithful worker in God’s Kingdom.

She was artistic and literary, using her talents for many charitable endeavors. She especially helped the local Snohomish, Washington D.A.R.E. program, helping create many activities.

Born in a small town in eastern Washington State, she eventually met her husband while both worked at Boeing Aircraft in Seattle. They subsequently lived in New Jersey, California and Illinois, and then returned to the Northwest.

After 35 years of working, skiing, sailing and raising a family in the Seattle area, she toured the U.S. for two years, settling on the Gulf Coast in Orange Beach, Alabama for retirement. The warmth of the Gulf Coast soothed her achy joints.

A memorial service will be held on July 7 at 3 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 491 W. 23rd Ave. in Gulf Shores.

Memorials may be sent to Grace Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 3627, Gulf Shores, AL 36547.
