FOLEY - The Alabama Public Personnel Administrators Association (AAPPA) and the Government and Economic Development Institute at Auburn University are delighted to announce that Suzanne Kellams, Personnel Specialist for the City of Foley, has met all the requirements to be designated an Alabama Certified Human Resource Specialist.

Ms. Kellams joins a select group of 51 Alabama human resource officers throughout the State with this distinction. Mrs. Andrea Roberson, President of the Alabama Public Personnel Association, said, "Municipal leaders are to be commended for supporting Ms. Kellams' efforts to complete this structured and tested professional development program. They recognize that all of the citizens of the City of Foley benefit from quality services provided by highly motivated and well trained municipal employees like Suzanne Kellams."

Graduates of the program must pass a comprehensive exam and complete at least 86 hours of detailed practical and applied tested course work involving all aspects of human resource management.

According to Dr. Joe Sumners, the Executive Director of the Government and Economic Development Institute at Auburn University and administrator of the program, "Ms. Kellams' achievement underscores a strong commitment and dedication to public service in our State and the commitment of the City of Foley to the betterment and improvement of local government in Alabama."

The Certificate will be presented to Ms. Kellams on July 27, 2017 at a special ceremony held during the annual conference of the Association in Montgomery, Alabama.
